No início do mês foi noticiado que Britney Spears tinha sido internada numa clínica psiquiátrica por espontânea vontade, surgindo rumores de que a cantora havia sido internada à força, levando fãs a protestar em frente à clínica. A artista reagiu à situação através das redes sociais. "Queria dizer olá, porque as coisas que têm sido ditas saíram fora do controlo. Há rumores, ameaças de morte à minha família e equipa", começou por afirmar. "Não acreditem em tudo o que leem e ouvem. A minha situação é única, mas eu prometo que estou a fazer o que é melhor neste momento. Podem não saber isto sobre mim, mas eu sou forte, e luto por aquilo que quero!,” acrescentou.
